Public Webinar – “Anyone Can Grow Clematis!”

March 2 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EST

  • « “A Photographer’s Journey”
  • Eastern US Native Clematis Research Gardens »

Presenters:  Linda Beutler (U.S.) and Ken Black (U.K.)

Let’s fight the tendency to make growing clematis more complicated than it is. We will show you how to select a healthy specimen and find a good place for it in your garden. Step-by-step planting instructions come next, and then some simple, common-sense advice about pruning. Expect a lot of lovely pictures of clematis grown with companions along the way. Linda Beutler, the curator for the Rogerson Clematis Garden in Oregon, US, and Ken Black, UK, clematis enthusiast and speaker, will discuss all aspects of clematis care for beginners (and those who want to do better!), including:

  • how and when to plant,
  • siting clematis in the garden,
  • fertilization,
  • pruning,
  • mulching, and
  • more.
